Russian govt to make decisions affecting 2016 budget revenue Thurs - Nesterenko
MOSCOW. Oct 1 (Interfax) - Key decisions on issues affecting the formation of the 2016 budget should be made at a meeting Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev is holding on Thursday, October 1, Deputy Finance Minister Tatyana Nesterenko told journalists on Wednesday.
"The budget commission will meet on October 7, the government on October 8, at which the budget itself will be examined. The prime minister is holding a meeting tomorrow at which the main i's will be dotted - must be dotted, because five days remain, five days to somehow do the budget. Decisions need to be made. They are being discussed to one or another degree," Nesterenko said.
This refers to decisions on pensions and on tax proposals. Nesterenko mentioned that the Finance Ministry is proposing to make decisions on the oil duty and the natural resource extraction tax on gas.
She also said that the ministry is calculating budget parameters for a three-year period, despite the fact that a decision has been made to draft and pass a one-year budget.
"We're considering the influence of any decision that is made today or that is not made today, what impact it will have, at least, to the end of 2018. We are seeing so far that this three-year budget is very hard to balance. Even taking into account discussed decisions on reducing the level of pension indexation, on revision of the retirement age for military personnel, civil servants, we are seriously not balancing the budget to the end of 2018 yet," Nesterenko said.
