Aeroflot: carriage of Transaero passengers extended to Dec 15, other tickets to be refunded

MOSCOW/SOCHI. Oct 2 (Interfax) - Carriage of Transaero passengers is being extended to December 15 on domestic and international routes, Aeroflot Russian Airlines said in a press release.

"Ticketed passengers with departure dates after 00:00 (Moscow time) on December 15 may apply for refunds in full," Aeroflot said.

Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov told reporters on the sidelines of the economic forum in Sochi that Transaero would carry passengers until the middle of December unless it is adjudged bankrupt by then.

"All passengers who have bought tickets for Transaero flights for a fairly defined perspective, until the middle of December, will be carried either by the airline itself, if by then it does not go legally bankrupt; or by Aeroflot, which currently coordinates Transaero's operating activity; or by subsidiaries of Aeroflot; or by other carriers," Sokolov said.

"If the airline is adjusted bankrupt in the legally prescribed manner, then other decisions will be reached," he said.
