Putin-Obama conversation did not help strengthen mutual understanding - Kremlin spokesman
MOSCOW. Oct 3 (Interfax) - The conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his U.S. counterpart Barack Obama in New York was constructive, but did not help bolster mutual understanding between them, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said.
"Let's say that the conversation was constructive, but certainly I cannot say that it was an exchange of opinions that helped strengthen mutual understanding," Peskov said in an interview with 'News on Saturday' program host Sergei Brilyov.
"Our American partners remain unwilling to show any flexibility on many issues or their wish to understand the arguments of others," he added.
The meeting of the two leaders continued much longer than planned "even though the programs at such international events are planned down to the minute," Peskov said.
The agenda for this discussion was easy to predict, and it addressed the situation in Syria and Ukraine as it had been expected, he said.
