SCA would produce and sell more SSJ-100s if there were no limits for engines - UAC head

MOSCOW. Oct 5 (Interfax) - Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (SCA), would produce and sell more SSJ-100 airplanes if the company Powerjet [Joint venture with France's Snecma and scientific development and production center Saturn] had not introduced a limit for engines, the head of the United Aircraft Corporation Yury Slyusar told reporters on Monday.

"We would be doing more right now, and selling more, if there was not a limit for engines. We can make 36 airplanes a year easily, but, unfortunately, in a difficult time for the company, the French side revised their production program. They did not believe that we can sell 36 planes a year and transferred production of some products," Slyusar said.

At the end of 2014 the company lowered its production plan, he said.

"Now they are reviving the plan, and by 2016 they will reach the level of production [of engines] that we need in order to fulfill all of our orders," the UAC head said.

UAC plans to produce between 17-20 airplanes this year, and sell 27. In 2016 the company intends to sell 31 airplanes and produce 25, and in 2017 the plan for producing and selling includes 34 airplanes.

The Sukhoi Superjet-100 is a twin engine aircraft that possesses the SaM146 engine produced by PowerJet. SCA's report for Q2 to RAS cited potential threats connected to deliveries with engines from PowerJet. Later, a SCA representative said that the company is not experiencing problems with deliveries of imported parts for the SSJ-100.
