Putin, Atambayev will meet in Sochi to discuss Russian-Kyrgyz relations, outcome of Kyrgyz elections - Peskov

MOSCOW. Oct 7 (Interfax) - The presidents Vladimir Putin of Russia and Almazbek Atambayev of Kyrgyzstan will meet in Sochi to discuss the bilateral agenda and the outcome of the elections in Kyrgyzstan, Russian presidential press officer Dmitry Peskov said.

"Yes, he will really be in Sochi and there will really be contacts," Peskov told reporters, responding to a question as to whether he can confirm the information provided by the Kyrgyz presidential press service that he has left for Sochi on a working visit.

"After the Sunday elections, which were successful for President Atambayev and his party, Atambayev is sure to inform his Russian counterpart about that," Peskov said.

He also said the meeting will address issues relating to bilateral relations and recalled that Kyrgyzstan is involved in integration processes in the EEU.

The Russian presidential press officer also assumed that Atambayev will congratulate Putin on his birthday in person at the meeting.
