Accusations of militia shelling Ukrainian army positions a lie - DPR
MOSCOW. Oct 8 (Interfax) - The Defense Ministry of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) has dismissed the Ukrainian Armed Forces' claims that militiamen allegedly fired mortars on their positions as a lie.
"It is a lie. We know this for certain," Eduard Basurin of the DPR Defense Ministry told Interfax.
"Each instance of ceasefire violations is registered by representatives of the specialized center for control and coordination," he said.
"Today they have not confirmed the statements made by Kyiv that positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces allegedly came under mortar fire. It means that these statements have nothing in common with the truth," Basurin said.
The headquarters of the Ukrainian army operation in Donbas reported earlier that militia forces had breached the truce. It was reported that an anti-tank guided missile had been fired against a Ukrainian checkpoint in the village of Troitske at 12:25 p.m. on Wednesday. As a result, four Ukrainian servicemen were injured.
