Krasnodar showcases its potential at Russian agricultural exhibition Golden Autumn
KRASNODAR. Oct 14 (Interfax) - The leading companies of Krasnodar Territory showcased their best products at the 17th Russian agribusiness exhibition Golden Autumn 2015 in Moscow.
Agribusiness companies from the southern Russian region, also known as the Kuban, participate in the exhibition every year, the regional Agriculture Ministry told Interfax.
"This year, Krasnodar Territory was traditionally represented by a general exhibit of the best enterprises and organizations in all agribusiness sectors. According to already established tradition, the Kuban showed off the potential of the regional agribusiness sector at one of the largest exhibits with a total area of about 130 square meters. Enterprises in the food and processing industry, vegetable farming, tea growing, viticulture and winemaking industries demonstrated their products," a spokesman for the ministry said.
The delegation from Krasnodar Territory was led by Governor Veniamin Kondratyev.
"Processing is very strongly represented in the Kuban. We support it economically, but the main issue is the raw materials. In addition, provision of meat remains a serious issue for the region. It is very important for us to develop dairy and beef farming, and restore the commercial pig population," Kondratyev said at the exhibition.
The governor said that Krasnodar Territory expects to harvest 14 million tonnes of grain and grain legumes this year, which would be more than in 2014.
"This means that the region will meet one of the main objectives - ensuring food security," he said.
