Russian Energy Ministry to meet with OPEC in Vienna on Oct 21 at expert level - Novak
MOSCOW. Oct 14 (Interfax) - The Russian Energy Ministry will meet with representatives of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) in Vienna on October 21 at the level of experts, Energy Minister Alexander Novak told journalists.
"On October 21, we will have a meeting at the level of exports. Representatives of the ministry will go to it," he said.
Russia held a meeting with OPEC representatives, and also four-party consultations on the day before the latest cartel meeting at the start of June. In addition OPEC Secretary General Abdalla Salem el-Badri during a seminar on July 30 discussed the situation on the oil market and its possible development with the Russian delegation, which was headed by Novak. After the meeting, in a joint announcement, the parties said that the next meeting of the Russian delegation and OPEC may take place in Vienna in the second half of 2016.
At its latest meeting in June OPEC decided to keep quotas at 30 million barrels a day.
The next meeting of the ministers of OPEC members will take place on December 4 in Vienna.
