Russia, Turkey agree further steps in organizing Russian meat supplies

MOSCOW. Oct 16 (Interfax) - The Russian agriculture watchdog (Rosselkhoznadzor) and the Turkish agriculture minister have agreed upon another set of steps to organize Russian meat supplies to the Turkish market.

Very soon Rosselkhoznadzor will send Turkey information about Russian companies interested in supplying their products to the Turkish market, the agency said. The agreement to that effect was reached during talks held between Rosselkhoznadzor's official representative Alexei Alexeyenko and the Turkish agriculture ministry's senior veterinary officer Derya Tayfun in Antalya on Friday.

Turkey has yet to set the date when its specialists will inspect Russian facilities on the subject of their compliance with the veterinary requirements of Turkish laws.

Tayfun also said they would finalize and send documentation to Rosselkhoznadzor, concerning the certification of would-be Russian poultry suppliers to Turkey.
