TBILISI. Oct 17 (Interfax) - About 45% of Georgian citizens are positive that the entry into NATO and the European Union will be good for the country, the National Democratic Institute (NDI) said on Saturday following a sociological survey.
Thirty percent believe that the decision to stop European and Euro-Atlantic integration for the sake of better relations with Russia will be more advantageous to Georgia.
Ten percent disagreed with both options and 14% were undecided.
In the opinion of 68% of the respondents, Georgia's entry into the European Union will improve the national economy.
Forty-one percent said that the government's policy aimed at the Georgian accession to the European Union would provide security of Georgia, and 38% said that would help obtain a visa-free travel regime.
Seventeen percent expect Georgia's entry into the EU to give an opportunity for restoring territorial integrity of the country.
