Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Bogdanov, Iranian counterpart discuss settlement in Yemen

MOSCOW. Oct 18 (Interfax) - Mikhail Bogdanov, deputy foreign minister of Russia and Russian presidential envoy on the Middle East and African countries, and Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian have discussed the possible ways of resolving the crisis in Yemen in a phone conversation, the Russian Foreign Ministry has reported.

"Special attention was given to the development of the situation in Yemen and the possible ways of resolving the crisis in the country. The conversation also addressed some vital issues relating to Arab-Iranian relations," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a report released on Sunday.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said the two officials had reached an agreement to continue active contacts between the Foreign Ministers of Russia and Iran on the Middle East issue.

The phone conversation took place on Saturday at the initiative of the Iranian side, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
