Russian-Cuban military cooperation developing dynamically - Shoigu

MOSCOW. Oct 20 (Interfax) - Prospects for the development of Russian-Cuban military and technological cooperation will be a subject for discussion at a meeting of the bilateral military and technological commission, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said at a meeting with Vice President of the Cuban Council of Ministers Ricardo Cabrisas on Tuesday.

"Of course, our military and technological cooperation that is developing rather actively and is very dynamic and positive in nature will be a separate topic. We will discuss this at the meeting of the military and technological cooperation commission," Shoigu said.

The Russian Defense Ministry is thankful to the Cuban side for the reception it gives to Russian ships that visit the port of Havana, he said. "We are interested in boosting interaction in the naval sphere," he said.

Russia has much experience in the training of Cuban officers at military universities, he said. "This partnership area has good prospects. We are ready to continue providing assistance to the training of Cuban military officers," Shoigu said.
