Rosaviatsia hasn't received official information on S7's purchase of Transaero
MOSCOW. Oct 21 (Interfax) - The Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia) has not received any official information about the acquisition of Transaero by S7 Airlines, Rosaviatsia head Alexander Neradko said at a press conference on Wednesday.
"No information arrived about the talks being held on the acquisition of Transaero by another airline, S7, and also about the results of this deal," he said, commenting on the information that emerged on Monday evening about a possible deal.
Neradko said that he would not like to discuss "these rumors and this information, which is being disseminated in the media." "No official confirmations, documents, agreements, even about intentions - S7 did not present and has not presented these things to Rosaviatsia," he said.
On Tuesday evening it became know that the co-owner of PJSC Sibir Airlines, which belongs to S7 Airlines Group, Vladislav Filev, signed an agreement on the purchase from the husband of former CEO and co-owner of Transaero Olga Pleshakova, Alexander Pleshakov, of no less than 51% of the shares of Transaero. The sum of the deal was not disclosed by the participants, but Pleshakov, who was cited by RBC, said that the price of the share package was "substantially more than 1 ruble," and that the "sum satisfies all parties to the deal."
Filev told RBC that S7 shareholders "have a plan to normalize relations with Transaero's creditors", not specifying details and saying that the new shareholders "are putting forth all efforts to avoid the airline's bankruptcy."
