+1 Russia to implement major car delivery, upgrade projects in Cuba - Rogozin
MOSCOW. Oct 22 (Interfax) - Russia is planning to supply between 700 and 1,000 Kamaz vehicles to Cuba, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said after a meeting of the co-chairpersons of the Russian-Cuban intergovernmental commission.
"Of Kamaz vehicles alone, we are planning to supply between 700 and 1,000. These are big projects, our industry is interested in them, and so are Cuba and the Cuban people who want a good, normal, free and dignified life, economically," the deputy prime minister said.
Russia is interested in fully upgrading all the equipment which was supplied to Cuba during the Soviet era, Rogozin said. These are thousands of trucks which for various reasons lack parts and units and are no longer in use, he said.
"We have already made good progress on the bus fleet, all key measures have now been undertaken to revive all bus fleets on supplies that went from the Russian Federation," the deputy prime minister said.
