OSCE to expand its presence in conflict zone in Donbas - Pushilin
DONETSK. Oct 24 (Interfax) - The self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) said that the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) decided to expand its mission on the territory of Donbas.
"It was decided to expand the mission, now this issue is being discussed. In the buffer zone it will be more acceptable than on our territory along the contact line. If we manage to pull back the weaponry completely, including from the Ukrainian side, the round-the-clock presence of the OSCE mission will be more reliable for observing and building up peace," Minsk DPR negotiator Denis Pushilin told reporters.
He also said that the issue of creating OSCE bases in Yenakievo, Debalcevo and Horlivka was being discussed. "The issue of bases is being coordinated," Pushilin said.
He also assessed the work of the OSCE mission in the DPR as satisfactory. "The OSCE mission performs the role of mediator between the two conflicting parties. I assess the OSCE work as satisfactory on the whole," he said.
