Transport Ministry: first contracts on transfer of Transaero planes to Aeroflot being drafted

MOSCOW. Oct 26 (Interfax) - The first contracts on the transfer of some long-and short-haul aircraft from Transaero to Aeroflot Russian Airlines are already being drawn up, Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov said in an interview on Rossiya 1 television.

"The first contracts are already being drafted. On the transfer of Transaero long-haul aircraft, and medium-haul aircraft too, from the leasing companies in favor of Aeroflot," Sokolov said.

A portion of Transaero's fleet is already undergoing additional technical servicing.

"When transferring these planes, in changing the counteragent, there must be absolute certainty that they are airworthy," he said.
