Investigators interview deputy head of Ukrainians in Moscow organization - source
MOSCOW. Oct 29 (Interfax) - The deputy chairman of the Ukrainians in Moscow public organization, Valery Semenenko, has been interviewed as a witness as part of a criminal investigation opened against Library of Ukrainian Literature director Natalya Sharina, a source in law enforcement agencies told Interfax on Thursday.
"Semenenko has been questioned as a witness in the criminal case opened yesterday by the Tagansky district investigative department of the Russian Investigative Committee's branch for Moscow under Part 2 of Article 282 of the Russian Penal Code [incitement of hatred or enmity and violation of human dignity]," the source said.
A criminal inquiry was earlier launched against the director of the Library of Ukrainian Literature after books and brochures containing calls for inciting ethnic hatred were confiscated from the library's building, located in Trifonovskaya Street in the center of Moscow, he said.
Interfax has so far been unable to obtain official confirmation of the report.
