Anti-ISIL coordination possible if Russia, U.S., Saudi Arabia keen on it - Bogdanov
MOSCOW. Nov 9 (Interfax) - Russia, Saudi Arabia and the United States can interact in the fight against ISIL and other terrorists in the Middle East if there is a mutual interest in it, said Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, the Russian president's Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa.
"As for the three-party format you have mentioned of the interaction on the anti-terror track, such coordination is, of course, possible on the understanding that all the participants of this triangle are really interested in the establishment and successful functioning of such a mechanism," he said in an interview with the Russian View magazine.
"ISIL has become a trans-border, international phenomenon, and today no country in the world is insured against having inside it radically-minded elements showing solidarity with this group," Bogdanov said.
"This objectively pushes our countries towards a more trusted dialogue on the counter-terrorism problem. Such contacts are taking place and they are bearing fruit," he added.
