DPR sees Ukrainian army's mine-clearing efforts along frontline as preparations for offensive
DONETSK. Nov 13 (Interfax) - Eduard Basurin of the Defense Ministry of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) believes that the Ukrainian army is clearing mines in areas along the contact line in Donbas in order to be able to amass military hardware and forces there, as well as possibly try to stage an offensive.
"I would like to draw your attention to Ukrainian representatives' statements that instances of Ukrainian Armed Forces servicemen hitting mines have become more frequent. This directly confirms that the Ukrainian military are preparing to stage provocations and an offensive. They are clearing mines in districts in the vicinity of the contact line in order to amass forces in their territory, prepare approach routes for hardware and possibly even launch an offensive," Basurin told reporters on Friday.
