DPR reports six attacks by Ukrainian army

DONETSK. Nov 17 (Interfax) - The Defense Ministry of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) has observed six bombardments of DPR territory by the Ukrainian army.

The Ukrainian side breached the truce six times by use of 82mm mortars, infantry combat vehicles, armored personnel carriers and small arms. Zaytseve, Lozove, Staromykhailivka, Spartak and the Abakumov mine came under attack. More than 20 shells were fired on DPR territory, senior official of the DPR Defense Ministry Eduard Basurin told reporters on Tuesday.

He said DPR intelligence continued to observe the deployment of heavy weapons and violations of the arms withdrawal obligations under the Minsk agreements.

"Two Grad [launchers] have arrived in the Verkhnotoretske area, four kilometers from the frontline; there are 20 tanks and four Grad [launchers] in Mykolaivka, eight kilometers from the frontline, and 20 pieces of heavy armament and up to 500 servicemen in Pisky, three kilometers from the frontline," he said.

Ukrainian media continues to stove-pipe information about the alleged massive attacks of the DPR on Ukrainian army positions ahead of the Minsk meeting but this information is untrue, Basurin said.

"Hopefully, the next meeting of the Contact Group in Minsk will promote the peaceful resolution of the conflict in Donbas," he said.
