Azerbaijan hands over contract serviceman deserter to Nagorno Karabakh, says Stepanakert
YEREVAN. Nov 18 (Interfax) - Azerbaijan handed over on Wednesday serviceman Andranik Grigoryan, who voluntarily deserted to the Azerbaijani side in March, the committee of the unrecognized Nagorno Karabakh Republic for the affairs of prisoners of war, refugees and those unaccounted for told reporters.
The handover was made through the mediation of the International Committee of the Red Cross near the Bash Karvend settlement, according to the committee's information.
Serviceman of the contact service, Private Grigoryan, 24, defected to the Azerbaijani side on March 22, leaving weapons and ammunition in his combat position.
