Iran Russia's serious partner in fight against ISIL - Rogozin
MOSCOW. Nov 19 (Interfax-AVN) - Tehran sees ISIL as a bitter enemy; it is a serious partner of Moscow in the fight against this organization, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin has said.
"This is our serious partner. It is not accidental that Iran is a partner of Russia, alongside Syria and Iraq, in the [project of the] anti-terrorism center which has opened in Baghdad," Rogozin said in an interview with the Rossiya-24 television channel on Thursday.
"Iran has long branded ISIL terrorist groups as its bitter enemies," he said.
"They [the Iranians] operate in a military way, they are helping the Syrian government and extending substantial economic aid," Rogozin said.
The Russian deputy prime minister also said that the November 13 terror attack in Paris "will have global consequences for Western countries, Western political psychology in respect to whether any factors deterring the formation of a coalition are needed."
"Clearly, it is an art of our diplomats to achieve very serious coordination work with leading countries possessing military potential which can be of use in finalizing the military operation against terrorist groups in the territory of Syria and Iraq. Nevertheless, speaking of Iran, there are no doubts about it," the deputy prime minister said.
