RusHydro to be strict, follow plan for optimizing costs - company head

MOSCOW. Nov 20 (Interfax) - RusHydro will optimize investment and operating costs, company head Nikolai Shulginov said.

"Strictly and according to plan," he said.

The company is also looking at the excessive number of employees. "Orders were given for subsidiaries to cut personnel due to the fall in construction work," Shulginov said. However, no concrete decisions have been made, the issue will be thoroughly considered.

He said RusHydro reduced investment costs on the comprehensive modernization program this year by 10 billion rubles. Optimization did not reduce the quality of work. "Something shifted, something postponed, seeing that it can be done later," he said. In particular, the procurement policy was optimized.

He also said that the company is developing a new strategy, which includes a cost-cutting program.
