Sinai crash plane wreckage could be handed over to Irish owner - source
MOSCOW. Nov 23 (Interfax) - The flight recorders and wreckage of the Russian A321 aircraft which crashed in Sinai could be handed over to Ireland, a source familiar with the inquiry told Interfax on Monday.
"The aircraft was operated by Kogalymavia under a lease agreement. The leaseholders are Irish companies. Under the current practice, the black boxes and wreckage should, upon completion of the inquiry, be handed over to Ireland where the aircraft owners are based," the source said.
Alexei Morozov, deputy chairman of the Inter-State Aviation Committee, said earlier, responding to a question posed by Interfax, that the Egyptian authorities may make a decision to hand over the black boxes and wreckage of the A321, which crashed in Sinai, to the aircraft owner after completion of the inquiry.
