Attack on Russian plane Turkey's unfriendly step - Duma deputy

MOSCOW. Nov 24 (Interfax) - Sergei Mironov, leader of the parliamentary faction of the party A Just Russia, has called Tuesday's attack on a Russian warplane in Syria an unfriendly step.

"The Turkish Air Force has shot down a Russian Su-24 plane. This is an obviously unfriendly step on Turkey's part. At a time when many countries are declaring their resolve to coordinate efforts in maintaining security, such actions cause apparent damage to the consolidated opposition to ISIL and our common fight against international terrorism," Mironov told journalists on Tuesday.

While all circumstances of the incident must be carefully analyzed and verified, "in any case, such a turn of events evidently doesn't benefit the common cause," he said.

Russia will draw appropriate conclusions from this unfriendly act, he said.
