Terrorists nesting in Afghanistan threaten all states in region, world - parliamentarian
MOSCOW. Nov 25 (Interfax) - Afghanistan is requesting the international community to help it fight terrorists, Fazil Hadi Muslimyar, head of the upper chamber of the Afghan National Assembly, has said.
"Just as the so-called Islamic State [acting] in Syria and Iraq is deemed to be an international threat, so all terrorist groups basing in Afghanistan should be seen as an international threat too, and Afghanistan should be helped fight them," Muslimyar said at a meeting of the Federation Council on Wednesday.
Various terrorist groups which are nesting in Afghanistan jeopardize not only this country but also all states in the region and the world, including Russia, he said.
"So, the fight against terrorism in Afghanistan requires regional international cooperation," Muslimyar said.
He added that the activity of ISIL "not just failed to comply with the principles and teaching of Islam but also categorically contravened them."
"They are not fighting for Islam, [they are fighting] against Islam," the head of the upper chamber of the Afghan National Assembly said.
"The holy religion of Islam equals the murder of one innocent soul to the murder of entire mankind," he said.
