EU Ambassador to Russia hopes Russian Su-24 incident not to derail effort to fight against ISIL or political process in Syria

YEKATERINBURG. Nov 25 (Interfax) - European Union's Ambassador to Russia Vygaudas Usackas hopes that the incident of the downing of the Russiam Sukhoi Su-24 plane by the Turkish military over Syria will not lead to weakening efforts of the world community in the fight against the 'Islamic State' (ISIL) terrorist organization.

"I hope that the parties will learn their lessons from it and this [incident] won't become a pretext for derailing common the effort that we strive for in the fight against ISIL, and what's the most important, in the promotion of the political process in Syria itself," he told Interfax.
