U.S.-led coalition should not allow situations destructive for common fight against terrorism - Ryabkov

NEW YORK. Nov 25 (Interfax) - Moscow hopes that the U.S.-led coalition, which is carrying out an operation in Syria and Iraq, will draw lessons from the incident with the Russian Sukhoi Su-24 warplane.

"Certainly, we assume that the U.S.-led coalition will draw lessons from the incident and will not allow situations which wound require an urgent response and would have a potentially destructive charge for the common cause which we should work on," Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said in an interview with Interfax in New York.

The deputy foreign minister believes that one of the goals of the attack on the Russian warplane could be the prevention of the international community from consolidating efforts in the fight against terrorism in Syria.
