Russia denies entry to 30 Turkish businessmen - Turkish Embassy to Moscow
MOSCOW. Nov 26 (Interfax) - The Turkish Embassy to Moscow has reported problems experienced by 30 Turkish citizens upon their arrival in Russia.
"These are average businessmen. They came to attend some fairs. They were told on the border that their visas were wrong. They were not tourists and they allegedly needed a work visa," a representative of the Embassy press service told Interfax on Thursday.
"Those people were sent back to Turkey," he said.
The Embassy has been receiving numerous reports from Turkish citizens about ID checks in Russia, the Embassy representative added.
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said earlier that restrictive measures would be taken as regards Turkey in connection with the attack of the Turkish Air Force on the Russian plane in Syrian airspace.
