Netherlands supports extension of EU sanctions against Russia - Poroshenko

THE HAGUE. Nov 26 (Interfax) - Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko says that Netherlands supports the extension of the anti-Russian sanctions by EU due to Russia's failure to implement the Minsk Agreements.

"I have received a clear confirmation that in the situation where Russia doesn't implement the Minsk Agreements, the sanctions will be continued," Poroshenko said following his talks with Dutch Prime Minister Marc Rutte in the Hague on Thursday.

Poroshenko stressed that the European Union's decision to extend the anti-Russian sanctions is important for the establishment of peace in Ukraine.

Moreover, Poroshenko pointed out that he had paid some attention to this matter during the talks with the Dutch Prime Minister because implementation of the Minsk Agreements is important not only in terms of stability of the situation in Ukraine but also with regard to stability in the region and in the entire world.
