Putin hopes foreign ministers will reach common ground on Syria at next Vienna meeting
PARIS. Nov 30 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that he hopes that the foreign ministers, who will be meeting in Vienna to discuss Syria, will be able to reach common ground on the issue of political resolution of the crisis in this country.
"We are now looking for a platform upon which to move further. I hope at their next meeting in Vienna our foreign ministers will be able to find more points of convergence," he told reporters after a climate summit in Paris.
"In my view, there is every reason for that," Putin said.
"Overall, it appears to me that we are approximately on the same wave, reasoning and working on the premise that the Syrian problem can only be resolved politically," the Russian president said.
