Finnish companies not planning to leave Russia

KRASNOGORSK. Dec 4 (Interfax) - Finnish businesses operating in Russia do not intend to leave this market because of economic difficulties, Finland's Ambassador to Russia Hannu Himanen has said.

"It is a difficult time from an economic standpoint. Trade turnover is declining. But it is possible and necessary to do something even in difficult times. Finnish firms do not intend to quit Russia," Himanen said at a meeting with Moscow regional Governor Andrei Vorobyev in Krasnogorsk.

The ambassador also said he believes it is highly important that Finnish businesses have mutual understanding with the authorities both at the regional and federal levels.

The meeting, which took place at Government House outside Moscow, was also attended by representatives of the companies Nokia Solutions and Networks, Huhtamaki CIS, UPM-Kymmene, Itella, SRV, and YIT.
