Azerbaijanis to lose citizenship automatically for yielding to terrorists
BAKU. Dec 5 (Interfax) - Azeri President Ilham Aliyev has approved amendments to the Azerbaijani citizenship law, which revoke citizenship for terrorist and anti-state activities.
The text of the amendments was published on the president's official site on Saturday.
Under the amendments, people who were involved in terrorist activity and committed acts aimed at overthrowing Azerbaijan's constitutional government will lose Azerbaijani citizenship.
Similar measures will apply to Azerbaijani citizens for conducting religious extremist activities, foreign military training under the guise of religious education, propagating hostile religious movements, and participation in foreign religious conflicts under the guise of religious rituals, getting other people involved in such activities, or forming an armed group for that purpose.
