Russia-China commission to decide fate of bridge across Lena close to Yakutsk - Yakutia Railways
YAKUTSK. Dec 7 (Interfax) - The Russia-China intergovernmental commission will determine the fate of the designed bridge across the Lena River near Yakutsk, JSC Yakutia Railways said in a press release.
"The issue of the construction of the bridge is planned to be addressed at the meeting of the intergovernmental commission, to which Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov from the Russian cabinet of ministers belongs and the Chinese government will be represented by Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli. The resolution of this body will be decisive, and will determine whether there will be a bridge across the Lena River near Yakutsk in the near future," the press service said.
Yakutia Railways said that the issue of building a bridge will be made at an intergovernmental commission meeting after the signing of agreement with one other participant "one of the largest railway-construction companies of China." "The signing of documents with a second participant is planned in the near future," the statement said.
