MOSCOW. Dec 8 (Interfax) - Chairman of the European Parliament Foreign Affairs Committee Elmar Brok from Germany will deliver a speech at the State Duma at an enlarged meeting of the parliamentary international affairs committee in Moscow on December 18, the press service of head of the committee Alexei Pushkov said on Tuesday.

"Together with Brok, co-chair of the Russia-EU parliamentary cooperation committee Othmar Karas [Austria] will arrive in Moscow," says a statement received by Interfax.

The situation in Syria, the implementation of the Minsk agreements and Russia-EU relations will be discussed, the committee said.

Brok and Karas will pay a visit to Moscow as part of regular meetings, usually held twice a year, between the leaderships of the international affairs committees of the State Duma and the European Parliament.

Other contacts with European politicians and lawmakers are slated before the end of the year, the press service reported. In particular, on December 9, Pushkov will speak at the French National Assembly Foreign Affairs Committee (chair Elizabeth Guigou) and will discuss with French colleagues the issues of coordinating actions in Syria, the political process in that country, the fight against ISIL and other terrorist groupings, the prospects of settling the situation in Ukraine and the EU sanctions policy against Russia.

A meeting with special representative of the French Foreign Ministry for economic cooperation with Russia Jean-Pierre Chevenement is also planned.

On December 10, Pushkov will deliver a speech at a special meeting of the German-Russian forum in Berlin, the press service said. The head of the Duma international affairs committee will also hold meetings with prominent Bundestag members and German politicians in Berlin, it said.
