Prosecutors ask investigators to probe Khodorkovsky's calls for revolution in Russia
MOSCOW. Dec 10 (Interfax) - The Prosecutor General's Office has asked the Russian Investigative Committee (RIC) to check the remarks made by ex-Yukos chief Mikhail Khodorkovsky and consider launching a criminal inquiry into incitement of regime change in Russia by way of revolution.
"Video footage was posted on the Internet on December 9, 2015, of Khodorkovsky giving a press conference at the Swiss office of the Open Russia public movement, with him publicly calling for regime change in Russia by way of revolution," Marina Gridneva, a spokeswoman for the Prosecutor General's Office, told Interfax on Thursday.
The decision to send the documentation to investigators was made by Deputy Prosecutor General Vladimir Malinovsky, she said.
