Putin demands that military officials strictly supervise State Defense Order spending
MOSCOW. Dec 11 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin charged the military with the task of strictly supervising the spending of funds allocated for the implementation of the State Defense Order, emphasizing that the state has no cash to spare.
"I ask to thoroughly control the spending of the funds allocated in the State Defense Order, effectively using the financial monitoring system," Putin said at the extended meeting of the Defense Ministry Board on Friday.
"I have said [this] many times, and I want to point out, once again, that we have no money to spare. And everything that is planned must be [completed] as scheduled in our plans and within the earlier approved budget," Putin said.
However, military chiefs "must organize a rhythmical, quality workflow in terms of practice, and combat use of modern technology", Putin said.
