Russia has yet to receive Egyptian report on A321 crash - source
MOSCOW. Dec 14 (Interfax) - Russia has yet to obtain information regarding the conclusions drawn by the Egyptian committee that is conducting a technical inquiry into the A321 plane crash on the Sinai Peninsula, a source with knowledge of the situation told Interfax on Monday.
"We have yet to receive a preliminary report from the Egyptian side, so we are unable to assess its content," the source said.
On Monday, the Egyptian media quoted abstracts from the report from the Egyptian Civil Aviation Ministry, which stated that a preliminary report on the crash of Russia's A321 plane on the Sinai Peninsula had been prepared. According to the report, the committee conducting the technical inquiry had, so far, found nothing to indicate an illegal interference or terrorist activity.
Federal Security Service Director Alexander Bortnikov said on November 17, that the Russian plane had crashed in Egypt as the result of a terrorist attack. In his words, a bomb, equivalent up to one kilogram of TNT, blew up onboard the plane. A spectral analysis detected traces of explosives on plane debris.
