Pakistani Parliament wants to work on platform of CSTO Parliamentary Assembly as observer -Naryshkin

MOSCOW. Dec 17 (Interfax) - Pakistan's Parliament has asked the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) to admit its delegation as an observer, Russian State Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin said.

"We received a letter, literally three days ago, with an official application from the Parliament of Pakistan," Naryshkin said at a meeting with a delegation of Serbia's National Assembly in Moscow on Thursday.

The interest towards this parliamentary structure is growing: for example, representatives of the Parliaments of China, Iran and Pakistan took part in the last session of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly's Council as guests, he said.

Now, Pakistan wants to work on this platform as an observer, in other words, to hold the same status as Serbia's Parliament, Naryshkin said.
