Fortum to build wind park for Ulyanovsk power supply for 65 mln euros

CHELYABINSK. 23 Dec (Interfax) - Finnish Fortum Energy Concern is investing around 65 million euros in constructing a windpark in Ulyanovsk, the company said in a statement.

The capacity of the wind park will be 35 MW.

It is planned that the wind park will start energy output in 2017 and will be involved in supplying electricity to Ulyanovsk, which has a population of 620,000 people.

Construction of the wind park is stipulated by an agreement Fortum concluded on Wednesday with the Ulyanovsk Region Government and Development Corporation of the region.

Fortum works in Northern European countries and the Baltic nations, Poland, and Russia. In Russia it owns 29.5% of the shares of TGK-1 and 94.88% in JSC Fortum .
