Volodin cannot yet predict non-parliamentary parties' chances in September Duma elections

MOSCOW. Dec 23 (Interfax) - Predicting non-parliamentary parties' chances of getting into the seventh-term State Duma will not be possible before next May, says Vyacheslav Volodin, first deputy head of the Russian presidential administration.

"As [it] regards the outcome of the campaign, which non-parliamentary party gets votes and [whether] this will enable it to pass the threshold - time will tell," he told the attendees of a second practical conference of professional election campaign organizers in Moscow on Wednesday.

It is clear "that certain trends will establish, most likely, earlier, the driver will become visible somewhere around May or June," he said. "This is probably when some kind of forecast could be made," Volodin said.

Trying to make predictions at this stage would be incorrect, he said. "I consider it incorrect for myself to be doing so," he said.

The Russian parliamentary elections are due to be held in September 2016.
