Syrian army with support of Russian Aerospace Forces narrows encirclement of militants in Damascus province - General Staff
MOSCOW. Dec 25 (Interfax) - The Syrian troops with the support of the Russian Aerospace Forces' aviation are narrowing the encirclement of illegal armed units in the Damascus province, Lieut.-Gen. Sergei Rudskoi, the head of the Central Operative Department of the Russian General Staff, said.
"In the Damascus suburbs, the government forces assumed control over the populated area of Marj al-Sultan and they continue their raids, narrowing the encirclement of illegal armed units on the Nashabia, Nula, Duma, and Zibdin tracks," Rudskoi told reporters on Friday.
"On the other tracks, the Syrian troops are working to stabilize the situation and are preparing to continue the offensive," he said.
