Invest quotas to be distributed to 5 types of bioresources
MOSCOW. Dec 25 (Interfax) - Investment quotas will be distributed to five types of bio-resources, deputy minister of agriculture, head of Federal Fishery Agency, Ilya Shestakov, said at a press conference in Moscow on Friday.
"These are pollack and herring from the Far East, cod and haddock from the North Basin, and crabs from both," he said.
Shestakov said that there is "no reason to distribute the quotas for all total allowable catches types of fish (types of biological resources, for which the total allowable catch - TAC, has been established)."
"There are enough of them, and their economic value is lower than other types of fish, therefore they are unlikely to stimulate the construction of new vessels," he said.
