Ukrainians breach Donbas ceasefire over ten times, kill one militiaman - DPR defense ministry
DONETSK. Dec 26 (Interfax) - The self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) has recorded 13 shell attacks by Ukrainians on Saturday, which killed one militiaman and injured another.
"The situation on the contact line tends to aggravate, with the Ukrainian forces having violated the ceasefire 13 times today. The attacks were launched against Kominternove, Zhabunka, and Donetsk Airport. In all, over 270 projectiles and more than ten tank shells and rockets have been fired against the DPR. As a result, one militiaman has been killed and one injured," senior DPR defense official Eduard Basurin told reporters on Sunday.
Civilians were not hurt, he said. Intelligence units continue spotting movements of Ukrainian army equipment.
"We saw a ten-vehicle motorcade heading towards Pisky, three kilometers from our troops' position," he said.
"Monitors were unable to access the Kominternove area. Fifteen minutes after we left Kominternove, the shelling of this area resumed. Mortar launchers were at work," Basurin said.
The press center of the military operation in Donbas said earlier on Facebook that the militia had fired at Ukrainian government forces' positions 13 times on Saturday as of 1:00 p.m. "In particular, attacks continued near the temporarily occupied Donetsk and in the Horlivka agglomeration area," the press center said.
