China closing border with Kyrgyzstan for New Year holidays
BISHKEK. Dec 29 (Interfax) - The state border with China will be closed on January 1-3 for the New Year holidays, Interfax was told, at the PR and media section of the State Border Service of Kyrgyzstan on Tuesday.
"At the initiative on the Chinese side, in connection with the New Year celebrations, the Torugart Highway and the Irkeshtam Highway checkpoints on the Kyrgyz-Chinese section of the state border will be closed on January 1 through 3, 2016," the border service said.
Border-crossings of people, vehicles and cargo will resume on January 4, 2016.
