Abkhazia to analyze cooperation with Turkey in construction, other sectors - Kremlin aide
SUKHUMI. Dec 29 (Interfax) - Turkish contractors are unlikely to have the chance to be involved in construction projects funded by Russia in Abkhazia, Kremlin aide Vladislav Surkov said.
"Abkhazia will analyze cooperation with Ankara in other sectors as well," Surkov said following a meeting with Abkhaz President Raul Khadjimba in Sukhumi.
"Perhaps Turkish contractors are unlikely to build sites here on Russian money, perhaps this is quite obvious," Surkov said.
"There is no plan to worsen Abkhazia's economic condition," and "therefore we will weigh all aspects," Surkov said. "Russia is not imposing some sanctions [on Turkey] indiscriminately, it's doing this selectively," he said.
"Everything else, like angling and access to natural resources, will be carefully analyzed," Surkov said. "Let's not be hotheaded," he said.
"The Abkhaz government will make it public how we agreed to coordinate politics here within the framework of our allied relations," he said.
