Prosecutor's Office represents state's justice, efficiency of fight against corruption depends on it - Putin
MOSCOW. Jan 12 (Interfax) - The Prosecutor's Office is a key element of Russia's law enforcement system, and it is its work upon which the efficiency of the crackdown on organized crime, corruption and other challenges largely depends, Russian President Vladimir Putin has said.
"It is important that, both now and always, the Prosecutor's Office represents the state's justice and comes as a key element of the domestic law enforcement system," Putin said in his message on the occasion of Public Prosecutor Office Professionals Day, marked in Russia on January 12.
Putin's address was read out by presidential administration chief Sergei Ivanov during a ceremony at the Prosecutor General's Office building dedicated to this holiday.
"It is you, your persistence and your consistency upon which the unity of Russia's statehood, protection of citizens' legal rights and interests, and the efficiency of the fight against organized crime, corruption and other challenges largely depend," the president said in his message.
