No progress in forming Syria opposition list - Gatilov

GENEVA. Jan 14 (Interfax) - No progress, in terms of forming a list of opposition forces to negotiate with Damascus was made at the tripartite meeting in Geneva, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Gennady Gatilo, said.

"Regretfully, we cannot state [that there has been] any progress in this area," Gatilov told the press in Geneva.

During the negotiations, Russia reiterated its opinion that Ahrar ash-Sham and Jaysh al-Islam groups "should not join the opposition delegation because those are terrorist organizations," Gatilov said.

Yet, it is still unclear whether these organizations will be included in the final list of the Syrian opposition, the deputy minister said. "De Mistura has not shown us the list made in Riyadh so far," Gatilov said.
