Iran plans to develop tourism ties with Russia

MOSCOW. Jan 14 (Interfax) - Deputy head of the Iranian Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization Morteza Rahmani Movahed, arrived on a visit in Moscow accompanied by the chiefs of Iranian tourist companies and tour operators.

During the visit, the Iranian delegation is due to hold meetings with Russian officials, representatives of public and private sectors of the tourism industry, Iranian Ambassador to Russia Mehdi Sanaei said.

"These meetings aim at providing conditions for long-term cooperation for tourism development between the two countries," the ambassador said.

The head of the Iranian delegation will hold a meeting with head of the Russian Federal Tourism Agency Oleg Safonov on Friday. On the same day they will hold a joint meeting with Iranian and Russian state-run and private companies, which operate in the tourism industry, Sanaei posted in his blog.
