No major progress reached at latest Minsk meeting, nor throughout 2015 - Pushilin
DONETSK. Jan 15 (Interfax) - The negotiators in Minsk failed to make significant progress in bridging the gap at their last meeting, nor throughout the whole of 2015, said Denis Pushilin, who represents the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic at the talks.
"The talks were held in a reserved atmosphere. We understand that it is necessary to seek more efficiency, and work toward a result, but the positions differ quite strongly and there was no cardinal achievement in bridging this gap," Pushilin told reporters on Friday.
No radical progress was reached "not just at the last meeting, but throughout the whole of 2015," he said.
"Currently, we are not expecting any major improvement or deterioration, we need to continue working. The arrival of the envoy plenipotentiary, Boris Gryzlov, is a big help. A politician of that level is likely to be able to make his contribution in the conflict resolution. But things also depend on Ukraine. It must be guided by common sense and logic," the DPR negotiator said.
